Religion is a journey
I was born a Muslim. I was told Allah exists and He created everything along with other religious teachings. I cannot recall how much of it I accepted and how much of it I rejected.
Once I was travelling by bus. The bus was crossing a bridge over a river. I was watching the river and suddenly it hit me - who created the river. I know that the bridge was built by humans. But the river? And what about the mountain, earth and ultimately the universe? On that day I truly believed that Allah exists.
To me, the whole thing - the bus journey, the discovery is symbolic to how we found our faith, or lose it. Religion is a journey. Just like any journey, in this journey you discover things. You may discover that some of the things that were taught to you are not correct (or maybe correct). You may discover that God (or gods) exist or do not exist. You may become a believer or a non-believer.
If you do not take the journey yet, you may not found your faith yet.
