A long time ago, I read a story called “the death of a reader”. In that story, a person (the reader) was riding a train to his destination. On the train, he saw a fellow passenger carrying an interesting book. On his request, that fellow passenger lent him the book for the ride only. The reader started reading the book and find it very interesting. So interesting that he actually did not get off at the station where he was supposed to and travelled further just to read the book. But unfortunately, he was not able to finish the book as the fellow passenger, the owner of the book reached his destination before the reader complete the book. Later the reader tried to find the book in a number of libraries, but no luck. After several years, he found a book at a house and grabbed it so that he can finish the book. But something strange happened. He did not find the book interesting anymore. After a few minutes, he gave up.

The fact of the matter is the book did not change over time, the reader changed and so did time. Over time, the taste of the reader change and the new taste did not like the book at all.

In my life, I have seen people, who used to like a specific type of food and after a certain period of time, their taste changed, and they started liking a completely different type of food. I believe this is one of the reasons why we have different types of fashion for clothing and other materials in every season. In 2000, we have a specific type of fashion which is now probably obsolete.

And this change is not forced by the advancement of science or invasion of another culture. This is a natural phenomenon which will happen no matter what. I believe this is one of the reasons for which human being has come so far. The reality is, we, human beings change, evolve, transform.

This is one of the aspects we will have to keep in mind while dealing with other people. If we just presume that the person we know is still the same person, we might be shocked to discover the change. If we keep in mind that human being will change, it will make our life a bit easier.
