A long time ago, I read a story called “the death of a reader”. In that story, a person (the reader) was riding a train to his destination. On the train, he saw a fellow passenger carrying an interesting book. On his request, that fellow passenger lent him the book for the ride only. The reader started reading the book and find it very interesting. So interesting that he actually did not get off at the station where he was supposed to and travelled further just to read the book. But unfortunately, he was not able to finish the book as the fellow passenger, the owner of the book reached his destination before the reader complete the book. Later the reader tried to find the book in a number of libraries, but no luck. After several years, he found a book at a house and grabbed it so that he can finish the book. But something strange happened. He did not find the book interesting anymore. After a few minutes, he gave up.
Spending money on tools
For some reasons, I never like the idea of buying an expensive laptop for my work. My thinking was that you should not spend money on things such as laptop, cellphone etc., rather you should spend money on things which will improve your life. I do basic staffs on my laptop, such as producing and editing word documents, browsing the web, watching movies - these types of works which does not require much processing power. So, most of the laptops that I have used, are low budget laptops with just enough ram and processor to do my works which is not much.
Trial of an opposition leader
Today a court in Bangladesh passed a judgement finding Ms Khaleda Zia, the former prime minister of Bangladesh guilty of corruption. Earlier in Bangladesh, the government set up a special tribunal to prosecute some people accused of a crime against the humanity some of whom were leaders of an Islamist party. Bangladesh is not the only country, there are a number of countries where the leaders of the opposition were tried and found guilty of some crimes, in most cases corruption.
